This sketch was a bit of a challenge for me. I don't even want to talk about it! But I will. Everything was fine until I decided instead of her pout, like the reference photo, I want her to have a smile. Ruined the whole thing. A friend put in nicely "The joker's daughter" (Soon to be a major motion picture.) a major wipe out. I started to cry, WHAAA, threw some brushes, the studio got a bit messy...then I fixed it! A pout it is.

To Fetch A Pail Of Water
sold
What is more precious then a young child running back and forth filling beach pails with water to aid in the construction of their sandcastles!

Landscape Painting: Mother with Child on Beach
I'm not giving up on the beach! I painted this from a photo taken years and years ago. I always wanted to paint it but never got around to it until now. The mother and child were really in dark shadow in the photograph. I lightened it a bit on the scanner but it was a challenge.

Landscape with Allentown Barn and Silo

Love this place. It's between my house and the high school. Its a large farm with about 6 buildings on it. So far I have only painted one or two of the buildings at a time. One day I will paint the whole thing!

Landscape Painting: White Farmhouse with Trees
This is a farmhouse down the road from where I live. I pass it almost everyday. It's part of a group of buildings. What I love about painting these landscapes are that depending on the time of day, time of year and what I include in the painting it's always something new.

Still Life Painting: Lemon and Blue Pitcher
I love my blue pitcher. I have a few. I'm on a bit of a roll with the still lifes. I am not crazy about my photographs. Sometimes they come out well and other times...not so good. I think I will re-take this one. Tomorrow.
I re-took the photo and tweeked the painting. Still not crazy about the photo.

Still Life Painting: Two White Peonies
More of my husbands flowers. They are so pretty. I see them from the window and want to go out and cut some for a big beautiful bouquet, but when I get out there I just hate to cut them! They look so beautiful in the garden. The Peonies are almost finished, so tomorrow I will go out there with my clippers and....well we'll see what I come out with.
