How lucky am I to have this farm as a neighbor...a favorite of mine to paint! After looking at some abstract landscape paintings, I was inspired to play with some color on this one. A challenge it was because while experimenting often times there becomes a fine line between just right or

a big fat awful mess... followed by the dreaded scraping sound of your palette knife on the canvas. However, this time it was just right.

My customers come from all over. I don't always remember what painting went where. However, this one is a favorite of mine and that is my morning coffee cup. So I do remember this painting is in France! Love it. Would love it more if I was there...someday...it's on my very long list. Anyway...I am now offering some of my paintings in prints. They come in a variety of sizes and are printed on a beautiful paper with a linen texture that is so perfect for the painted image.  Take a look on my Etsy shop....

I challenged an artist friend to paint with me, 28 paintings for the month of February. I suggested we make it a competition and loser buys dinner. After very little thought my friend Artie said, Absolutely Carrie, I would like nothing more then for you to treat me to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants! I could see the visions in his head of steaks, rack of lamb, lobster, a little foie gras perhaps....Yeah OK...In his mind maybe. I knew there was no way I would lose a competition that was my idea. Really? My idea dude, I'm not losing....and neither did he. We both met our challenge of 28 paintings. Someone needs to buy us dinner damn it!
