original oil painting lemon and white flower

Lemon and White Flower, 10 x 10 inch oil on canvas panel

Yes, definitely a lemon theme going on. I have been painting my still life from the natural north light in my studio. So, the time of day I'm painting is obvious by the colors of the lemons. When they have more orange that would be afternoon light. When they are a cool yellow, that would be morning light. I don't think about it while I'm painting, I just paint what I'm seeing at the time. Today I had all my recent lemon paintings together and noticed that distinction.Isn't that cool! OK, maybe not, but I'm a bit of a painter "geek" so I think it's way cool!

Hi Carrie! I think it's a very cool observation. I love your paintings! Uncomplicated and very fresh. Please stop by and visit my blog if you have a chance.

I can tell you are painting from life and it is a joy to see. I scrolled through your blog and really enjoyed it - jokes and all!
