abstract oil painting white barn

"White Barn Abstract" 7 x 5 oil on canvas panel

I'm a big fan of abstract painting. Last year I went with a friend to a Georgia O'Keeffe exhibit. I was amazed at how she went from realism to abstract. There was one painting in particular, a series, it was a piece of bark leaning on a flowered wallpapered wall with a seashell. The first painting was realism the next few were representational-abstract and the final was totally abstract. For me to see the transition of "seeing" from truth to total abstraction was so cool! Well, here is my attempt at that style of painting. Very much a challenge, but I look forward to more experimentation with this kind of painting.
